Meltdowns And Breakdowns

Parking lot unloading, lot's half full.  It's ladies day, we should get off #1 quick.  And we did.  Same faces, young as ever, worn in a bit, but sparkling still.  Near the half century, going round and round on this dizzy space highway.  A healthy kind of vertigo, stable and balanced.  Then the swings, whacks, and booms.  We still got it, the equipment helps tremendously.  We busted out.

Fairways and music, getting the Led out early.  The first rolls of the day.  Worm burners, high fades, long draws, grips and cuts.  Stories of full circle.  Family trees with new limbs and fresh leaves.  Job Corps one on one, easy to the hoop, goes left.  Electricity wires atop massive towers, the old course greens that are now mere ghosts.  The yips appeared.  Pushing right.  The radar countdown will begin shortly.  Giving it up with the nubs, just giving it away.

Loud and hungry, lit by initial coldies.  The afternoon can wait, we must eat.  And we did.  Mexican is always appropriate.  When you're hot, when you're tired, when you've been emptied by the morning shanks, clanks, and yanks.  Smartly, stashed in a back room at San Miguel's.  Let's make this easy, the money men stepped up.  Pay it forward, it all evens out.  Off to contracts, and lessons, and unavoidable conflicts for some.  Back to the rolling hills, grassy fields, and peaceful afternoon still for others.  Hydration.  In early July.  In Texas.  When the heat is unconditional and the clouds are exploding.

Flying everywhere, five players playing.  Nourished and cheerful, anticipating execution, ignoring the pains.  Stay moving always, never rust up if you can help it.  The meltdowns and breakdowns, a few to celebrate, walk off like a champion.  Cross Canadian Ragweed.  Stay behind the plane, close it up a bit, protect the back.  A dwindle at 9, a tweak at 15, then fat, fat, fat.  Shot after shot.  Like digging my own fat golf grave.  Everything was fat.

Trunked the clubs, the day was still bright.  To the cool pool, to cool off the summer day, to float and ponder the sky, to wash off the golf.  To drown it in the hazard, to drop it in the drink, to get clean.

Sources Say 5: The Fool's Century

On the inside it's uglier than most can imagine.  Scandal, cover ups, hook ups, and pick-me-ups.  No telling what kinda narcotics float around, pill to pill, shot to shot, dose to dose, a pharmaceutical disaster.  Like Elvis without any music or Chuck Berry without any moves or Bruce Lee without any kicks or Speedy Gonzales without any speed.  Just dizzy, slurring pigment obsessed drunks, sources say. What does CBS stand for anyway?  Doesn't matter now, they've become irrelevant, a bleak reminder of last century.  The fool's century.  Duped and looped.  Now we know. We started in around the late 40's, picking fights, manipulation, sinister and crude.  Stealthy.  Spies with eyes in the skies.  Peace was never kept, it was invaded.  America was a TV show on CBS.

Sources Say 2: They Miss The Ink

Related to manipulation abuse, but with a capitalistic twist.  They are paid by the manipulators and the victims of manipulation.  It's a winning business model until the walls come crumbling down on the street, until the curtains pull back.  You thought Oz was bad, at least they got you back to Kansas.  These journal jerks got nothing. Even a few of my sources have moved on, the wreck has left the place dim and disgruntled.  Evidently, what's-her-name stormed out of a staff meeting in tears, mumbling something about pills and booze and karaoke night.  Guess it didn't go well.  Everyone laughed at her when she left the room, seems a real toxic work environment.  They miss the ink. But that won't stop them from cheering on China, and for good reasons.  Ask the finance department.  Money's money, honey, and they got the name, the bull statue, the cufflinks.  They got smear jobs, insinuations, and an editorial board.  Somew...
